The Queen’s Gala celebrates the highly anticipated debut of A Queen Within: Adorned Archetypes, Fashion and Chess — a unique fashion exhibition dedicated to drawing women and girls to the game of chess by exploring the relationships between power, risk-taking, and the Queen’s evolving roles in the game and society.

The exhibition will open to the public on Saturday, October 19, 2013.

Saks Fifth Avenue will host the event, transforming its Plaza Frontenac location into an evening fit for a queen (and a few kings).

Over 300 guests will enjoy cocktails in the Contemporary department, and then move to the second floor for an elegant dinner, auction including rare pieces by Charlie Le Mindu and Alexander McQueen, and evening entertainment.

The Queen’s Gala is pleased to welcome prominent global figures from the worlds of art, chess, and fashion. Special guests include Dukes of Melrose star Cameron Silver, photographer Anne Deniau, and Museum at FIT Director Valerie Steele, among others.

Proceeds from the Queen’s Gala will benefit the expansion of the World Chess Hall of Fame’s exhibitions and education programs.
