February Family Day

020412-fd-february506px72dpiOn February 4th, dozens of kids and parents gathered at the World Chess Hall of Fame for the fourth monthly Family Day.

This was the last Family Day involving the WCHOF’s inaugural exhibitions, OUT OF THE BOX: Artists Play Chess and Chess Masterpieces: Highlights from the Dr. George and Vivian Dean Collection. Budding chess players and novices alike mingled in the galleries, then gathered in the third floor “workshop” to create chess-related art projects: black and white keychains and doorknob decorations topped by a crown.

Family Days take place on the first Saturday of every month, with hourlong sessions at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. We will not be holding a Family Day in March, as we will be closed the first week of the month for new installations, but we hope you join us for our new exhibitions and events in the spring!
