Blue Star Museum Initiative

Posted in Arts and Culture, Outreach Programs

From Memorial Day, May 28th, through Labor Day, September 3rd, the World Chess Hall of Fame - and over 1,500 other museums across the United States - will be participating in the Blue Star Museum Initiative, which provides free admission to active duty military personnel and their families!

Blue Star Museums is a collaboration among the National Endowment of the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, as well as the participating institutions to provide free access to those individuals who serve our country and to the families who support them. There are museums in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and American Samoa taking part in this fantastic program. Participating organizations include children’s museums, fine art museums, history and science museums, and nature centers.

Other Saint Louis institutions include the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, the Saint Louis Art Museum, the Missouri History Museum!
